Introduction to Atmosphere

Atmosphere  :  A blanket of Air containing different gases surrounding the earth is called atmosphere.                        ( Important Gases of Atmospher )         1(Name ):   Nitrogen , Oxygen ,Argon,Carbon dioxide,Ozone,      2 (Symbol):   N, Q2 ,Ar,Co,Q3            3 (Ratio) :  78.1% , 21%, 0.93%,0.3%,  0.00006%                 The Ozone layer is like an umbrella  which protects the earth from harmful  ultraviolet  rays of the sun and they can cause skin cancer and many other diseases.          Structure the Atmosphere : Atmosphere is dividing in to the following layers. Each layer has its own physical characteristics. 1)Troposphere ,   2) Stratosphere,3)Mesosphere , 4) Thermosphere or Exosphere        1)Tropospher: It is the lowest layer of the atmosphere.  its average height is approximately 12 km. Most of the weather phenomena take place in troposphere.      The height or troposphere at equator  16 KM and on poles 8 KM. the place above the earth surface where the process (Decrease in temperature)  stop is the upper boundary  end  of this layer called  tropopause. 2)Stratosphere : Stratosphere is the second lowest layer of the earth, s Atmosphere. Average height of this layer is 48 KM. Ozone which is an important gas is found here.     3)Mesosphere :Mesosphere, present above  the stratosphere,  its height is about 80Km. it is the coldest layer of the atmosphere. its upper limit is called mesopause.    4)Thermosphere or Exosphere: It is the fourth layer of the atmosphere.its starts from 80km above the earth surface and it,s extended up to the space. the study of physicl characteristics of the atmospher is called  Meteorology.
